Highway Construction Training

Course Length: 2 Weeks
Class Type: Lecture & Lab
Average Pay: (Michigan) $12.15 – $28.02 per hour
Tuition: $1,649 (Books and supplies provided separately)

Course Description: Between 2019 & 2023, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is scheduled to invest over $8.7 billion into repairing, rebuilding & expanding Michigan’s Highway, Road & Bridge system.

 

DRM International Learning Center’s 10-day Highway, Road & Bridge Construction course will teach students the fundamentals of:

  • Determining Soil Characteristics & Composition
  • Working with Asphalt
  • Mixing, Spreading, Smoothing & Curing Concrete
  • Assembling & Disassembling Concrete Formwork
  • Reading Civil Engineering Drawings
  • Earthmoving & Grading
  • Preparing a Worksite for Roadwork
  • Traffic Regulation & Other Worksite Safety Techniques
