Michigan Works! and WIOA training assistance

Michigan Works! agencies can help eligible career seekers explore training assistance through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Your local agency reviews your circumstances, training goals, program eligibility, and available funding.

Michigan Training Connect (MiTC) is the state’s eligible training provider list for WIOA Individual Training Accounts. Program listing and individual funding approval are separate steps. Ask your Michigan Works! advisor to confirm authorization before relying on assistance to pay tuition.

Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship

The state offers eligible students up to $2,000 per academic year for eligible career training, subject to its award and credential rules. A second year of funding is not automatic.

State guidance includes Michigan residency for at least the preceding year, high school or equivalency completion in 2023 or later, enrollment within 15 months of completion, and restrictions relating to prior degrees and credentials obtained through this scholarship. Students apply through the MiSSG Student Portal after identifying an eligible program.

DRM program eligibility must be confirmed before you rely on this scholarship. This page describes the state program; it does not promise that a particular DRM program or applicant qualifies.

Employer sponsorship and other payment questions

Ask your employer whether it sponsors job-related training. Employers and referral organizations can contact DRM to discuss training needs, program fit, and potential sponsorship arrangements. DRM offers payment plans. Ask admissions for the current payment schedule, deposit requirements and terms before enrolling.

Your next step

  1. Choose a program and your preferred campus.
  2. Ask DRM for the next confirmed schedule and full cost details.
  3. If seeking assistance, complete the funding provider’s review and obtain any required authorization.
  4. Confirm your payment arrangements and enrollment requirements with admissions.

Use the inquiry form or email info@drmilc.com. You can also explore our programs. Funding decisions are made by the relevant funding provider, and assistance is not guaranteed.

Let us help you explore funding

Not sure where to begin? Tell Katreva which program interests you and whether you are a recent graduate, changing careers or returning to work. We can help you identify the appropriate next contact; the funding provider makes eligibility and award decisions.

Michigan Works! serves students across Michigan

WIOA means Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. Your local Michigan Works! agency can assess eligibility for training assistance and help with career planning and job-search resources. DRM appears in Michigan Training Connect; ask your advisor to confirm the exact program, campus and authorization before enrollment.

Find your local Michigan Works! service center or call 800-285-9675. Search Michigan Training Connect.

Recent high school or GED graduate?

The Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship may help eligible students pay for approved career training. Graduation in 2023 or later alone does not establish eligibility: the state also has residency, prior-degree, prior-award and 15-month enrollment rules. Ask admissions to confirm your selected DRM program and follow the state application process.

Michigan Reconnect and older short-term scholarships

Michigan Reconnect currently supports eligible programs at public community and Tribal colleges. It should not be treated as confirmed funding for DRM tuition. The older Reconnect Skills Scholarship and Reconnect Short-Term Training Program are closed to new awards.
