About Our Nurse Aide Training Program

Our CNA training program gives you the skills you need to become qualified to take the exam to become a CNA in Michigan. By completing this course and passing the State of Michigan CNA exam you’ll be able to work in facilities, such as, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, adult foster care, hospitals and medical facilities, and other long-term care facilities.

The coursework in this program includes class, lab and clinical rounds, leading to a total of 83 hours for the entire program.

The upcoming CNA class start dates for this program are listed below:

  • August 3, 2015 3:00pm – 10:30pm
  • September 7, 2015 8:30am – 5:00pm
  • October 5, 2015 3:00pm – 10:30pm
  • November 2, 2015 8:30am – 5:00pm

In addition to our basic CNA training program, we offer a Phlebotomy program in Lansing. This program will enable you to learn the skills necessary to successfully obtain a blood sample from a patient. If you’re a Phlebotomy technician you’ll be responsible for drawing blood from your patients and sending it out to local laboratories for testing.

This skill set enables you to work in a wide variety of healthcare settings.

DRM International Learning Center Offers New Phlebotomy Technician Program
Lansing-based healthcare education company adds certificate course to winter schedule.

November 2012 – DRM International Learning Center (DRM ILC) has launched a new Phlebotomy Technician Program, beginning with classes scheduled in February and March 2013. DRM ILC, a Lansing-based educational facility which serves students and future health professionals, has provided excellent training in the healthcare field since 2007. Their mission is to equip graduates for sustainable employment by providing instruction and practical experience in high-demand positions in medical settings.

The new Phlebotomy Technician Program is the latest in a robust range of classes offered by DRM ILC. This 40-hour certificate course will focus on proper techniques in various blood collection methods, patient identification protocols, specimen processing, and quality assurance. Graduates will finish the course with the knowledge, skills and externship experience necessary to work as Phlebotomy Technicians in hospitals, clinics, assisted living facilities, home healthcare, and more.

Morning and evening classes will be available for students who require flexibility. The first two sessions for the Phlebotomy program are scheduled for February 4-8, 2013 and March 11-15, 2013.

DRM Companies Hold “Caring for Life” Food Drive for the Greater Lansing Food Bank

DRM Genesis and DRM ILC to collect food donations before holidays.
November 2012 – Sister companies DRM Genesis Home Healthcare Providers and DRM International Learning Center (DRM ILC) announce the “Caring for Life” Food Drive, a joint effort to support the Greater Lansing Food Bank with a collection drive before the holidays. Donations will be accepted at the DRM offices in Lansing on December 3-21, 2012.

This event is an opportunity for the DRM companies, local businesses and individuals to give back to the Lansing community and support those in need. All donated items will be given to the Greater Lansing Food Bank, which serves residents in 7 counties: Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, Shiawassee, Gratiot, Clare and Isabella.

Among the items needed by the food bank are:

  • Canned goods, such as beans, tuna, fruit, vegetables, beef stew, chili, spam, hash, soup, canned tomatoes, tomato sauce/paste, canned pasta
  • Canned or boxed fruit juice
  • Boxed meals, eg., complete dinners, Hamburger Helper, pasta meals, instant rice meals
  • Dry pasta and rice, instant potatoes
  • Peanut butter
  • Snack items, such fruit snacks, granola bars, pop tarts, instant pudding, jello, crackers
  • Baby food and baby formula
  • Breakfast items (dry cereals, oatmeal, pancake mixes, syrup)
  • Staples such as flour, sugar, spices

Items for personal care and hygiene, such as toothpaste, deodorant, soap, shampoo, razors and toilet paper, will also be accepted. The food bank will not accept home-made or home-canned goods, fresh food, and items that are opened, damaged, or perishable. A complete list of needed and acceptable items is available at:

Celebrating Five Years of CNA Training in Lansing

October 5, 2012 marks five years of continued business growth for DRM International Learning Center (DRM ILC). DRM ILC provides programs and individual courses for healthcare students and professionals. Some of the programs and courses include Restorative Nursing, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Hospice/End-of-Life Care, Alzheimer’s/Dementia care. CNA Celebration Day to recognize CNA’s day-to-day patient companionship

The compassion, kindness, and empathy of certified nursing assistants will be celebrated at DRM ILC’s CNA Day Celebration on Friday, June 15.

DRM ILC is offering discounts and two giveaways! Stop by the Lansing Campus at 3204 S Pennsylvania Ave – Lansing, MI between the hours of 4-5 p.m. and register to win! The Edge 94.1 FM will be broadcasting live from the event.

Prospective students will be able to register for an opportunity to win a full scholarship to attend the DRM ILC CNA program.
